Professor DeMarco has worked with external and internal publics, including regional news assignment editors and reporters at media outlets in New York, Washington, Atlanta, Salt Lake, Philadelphia and Indianapolis. During the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, she worked for the International Broadcast Center, and two years earlier was a Rotary Exchange member to northeastern Japan.
Ms. DeMarco advanced environmental and economics initiatives of the land-grant colleges of Maryland and New York, through press campaigns, television hosting, and legislative liaison. She was a national winner of the Pioneer Award from the Agricultural Communicators in Education.
Her undergraduate work in English was completed at Fontbonne College in St. Louis, and her master's degree is in English at the University of Georgia, with additional graduate work in public communication at the University of Maryland. Her adjunct teaching has occurred at Georgia State University, Suffolk Community College, a SUNY unit, and at Georgia Perimeter College in metro Atlanta, where she teaches writing and public speaking.
