Dr. Poonam Kumar is a tenured, full professor at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan where she teaches marketing and educational technology courses. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience at the University level and has extensive experience in designing and teaching online courses. She has developed and taught both undergraduate and graduate marketing courses.

Kumar earned her Post-doctoral certificate in Marketing from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and completed her doctorate degree at The University of Memphis. She also has a certificate in online teaching from the Sloan-C Consortium. Her teaching and research interests are in the area of Web 2.0 technologies and marketing. In her research she has examined consumer privacy issues and consumer decision making process. She has published several journal articles and presented at numerous conferences.
