Professor Hernandez is a serial entrepreneur, creative veteran and global regulatory expert with over 15 years experience as a lead strategist for a broad base of pharmaceutical, medical device, high-technology, retail, consumer, entertainment and commercial clients in over 40 countries. He is a frequent conference speaker, award recipient, lecturer, and author on global regulatory affairs and policy, strategy, advertising, marketing and bioethics.
Dr. Hernandez is currently Chief Creative Officer at JiveShed Advertising, Chief Global Regulatory Affairs Officer at GMP Regulatory Partners, President & Founder at the Center for the Study of Regulatory Affairs, and the Center for Law, Policy and Justice. He also serves on the faculties of Northeastern University (Masters in Regulatory Affairs) and West Virginia University (Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications).
Dr. Hernandez received his Doctor of Law and Policy degree from Northeastern University after defending his doctoral thesis titled, “Dying for Reform? Adverse Drug Events and Conservative FDA Response, A Causal Relationship.” He holds a Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs for Drugs, Biologics & Medical Devices, and Graduate Certificates in Medical Devices Regulatory Affairs (EU, US, Japan) and Biopharmaceutical International Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern University. He attended Boston University (MS, Advertising) and Edinburgh Business School (MBA). He is a graduate of Syracuse University (BA/BS) where he was a new media scholar, and earned the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board.
Dr. Hernandez is a director on several boards and founded over 16 companies in the last 19 years. Selected professional affiliations include the American Marketing Association (AMA), Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), Boston Interactive Media Association (BIMA), Drug Information Association (DIA), Drug Safety Executive Council (DSEC), Food Drug Law Institute (FDLI), Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX), MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge (MIT ERF), Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) and the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS).
